Row Booking Process

Row Booking Process

If you’re new to rowing, you’ll start with a Taster Rowing Session. We’ll be in touch to arrange this with you. After your taster, you can book rows using our online booking system.

Step 1: Top up your “Row Dough Wallet”

Rows are paid for using your Row Dough Wallet — (your online balance).

  1. Go to Row Booking on our website and select Row Dough Wallet.
  2. Enter the amount and click Buy Now.
  3. Confirm payment via PayPal.

Your balance will be used each time you book a row. You can top it up whenever you need to.

Step 2: Book a row

  1. Go to the Row Booking menu and select Book a Row.
  2. Choose the row you’d like to join. If spaces are available, click Send your row booking.

What happens next?

You’ll receive a “Row Booking Pending” email. Around three days before the row, the cox confirms the crew and you’ll be emailed to let you know if you’ve been successful 🎉

Sometimes rows are full or the weather isn’t great, so bookings may be declined or cancelled. If that happens, just book onto another row — simples! 🦦

How Coxes Fill a Row 🤝

Coxes try to be as fair as possible when filling a crew. They take into account these things:

  • Giving less frequent rowers the chance to get out onto the water.
  • The type of row being run
  • Weather, tidal and sea conditions
  • The need for specific experience levels within the crew

For example:

  • Learn to Row sessions usually include experienced rowers to support new members.
  • Social rows may need more experienced crew if the conditions are expected to be a bit more challenging.

Above all, safety comes first — if conditions don’t look right, a row may be cancelled.

And incase you didn't know... Our coxes really are amazing humans — without them, we couldn’t run the club. They volunteer their time to get boats on the water whenever they can fitting it around life, family and work! They all give their time on a voluntary basis so we always show them alot of love ❤️. Three cheers for our coxes, hip hip....
