Appledore Supervets weekend did not disappoint! After a 7 and a half hour drive we arrived late Friday night at the stunning Devon town of Westward Ho, our home for the next 3 days.
The accommodation was amazing, thank you to Colette for finding and booking and Westward Ho has the most beautiful sandy beach literally minutes from our apartments!
Saturday morning we had 2 races pitched against the Cornwall and Devon A teams which didn’t go as well as we had hoped and left us disappointed. We decided to go for a swim and spend some time relaxing on the beach with maybe a little snooze to catch up from our late night.
Sunday morning we had another race for the plate, which was given to the winner of the lower scoring teams from the heats. We were well rested and full of fighting spirit to show what NGRC were made of! We rowed with pride and heart and came a very respectable 4th of 6 teams only 10 seconds behind the winner.
Meanwhile our pontoon neighbours Lewes Rowing Gig Club were also competing for the Men’s SV plate and they came in 3rd after a very exciting battle for 2nd with them pipped at the post!
An amazing weekend creating more wonderful memories and meeting lots of other clubs.
